PM Modi To Shikhar Dhawan- Pitch Will Remember You, You Will Return Again

ICC WORLD CUP 2019

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished Indian cricket team opener, Shikhar Dhawan, a speedy recovery. Dhawan has been out of the Ongoing World Cup in England and Wales due to a thumb injury.

Dhawan tweeted a video after he was out of the World Cup. Retweeting this tweet, the Prime Minister wrote, "Dear Dhawan, there is no doubt that the pitch will miss you, but I hope you will recover as soon as possible, return to the field once again and contribute to many of the country's victories."

"I wanted to complete the World Cup, but now it's time for me to leave and return to the team," Shikhar Dhawan said in a tweet. "I wish you all the best with the team," said the team manager before Dhawan said, "Dhawan has a fracture in his left hand. Assuming the advice of many experts, Dhawan will be under observation until mid-July, so he will not be able to take part in the rest of the ICC World Cup-2019 matches.

Dhawan suffered a thumb injury on Pat Cummins' ball in a match against Australia on June 5. Dhawan had scored 117 runs on 109 balls in that match. On Wednesday, the BCCI had confirmed Dhawan's non-playing of the rest of the World Cup and appealed to the ICC to include young Rishabh Pant, who was accepted by the highest body of cricket.
